Calcined petroleum coke is obtained by heating green petroleum coke to a temperature of up to 1400 °C. Due to its high electrical conductivity and low electrical resistivity, CPC is widely used in aluminum anodes, graphite electrodes and other carbon-consuming industries. It can improve carbon content in steel melting and casting. It can also increase the amount of scrap steel and reduce the amount of pig iron, or not use scrap iron at all.
